FIRST, I like to say THANK YOU Ms.
Cousar, for allowing me to do this interview. It’s actually my first one. I’m new to this so please bear with
me. Q: When did you decide you wanted to write? A: I decided I wanted to write when
I started thinking of occupations that would enable me to make money with out having to be there. Q: How many novels in all have you written? A: Poetry Confessions is my first book.
I am currently writing my second book titled “MAN to man” our key to success, which will be available Summer
2008. Q: How long did it take you to write your first
novel? A: This particular project has taken
approximately two years to come to life. I really didn’t realize how much time and energy goes into writing a good book.
The book took a lot out of me, both mentally and emotionally. Q: After writing your first novel, did
you self-publish? A: Yes, I decided to self-publish
because my book was so different then any other book out today. I have learned that a lot of Publishers don’t want
to take a chance on something so out of the ordinary. I personally wanted to give my readers a reading experience that
is unique and one of a kind. Plus, to be honest I like doing things my way. Q: If so, how
was that experience? A: I am still going through the experience.
It’s requires a lot of time, hard work, dedication and determination. It also requires a lot of sale approaches,
in which I hate. I even wonder some time if I am doing things the right way. But, if the experience was easy everybody would
be doing it. Q: Tell us about your current release "Poetry Confessions" A: Well, Poetry Confessions is
a series of poems describing a Gentleman’s point of view Q: What feedback have you received from fans? A: I have received a lot of good
feedback from my friends. I haven’t had the pleasure of having fans yet. Surprisingly, I have received a lot of good
feedback from guys. I didn’t expect this at all. I am even thinking about changing the book cover. I suppose they can
relate to the two male characters in the book (Jonathan Love and Mr. Don’t want to Do Right). Q: What authors do you admire? A: The author that I admire would
Teri Woods the author of the book True to the Game. I admire her determination and entrepreneur spirit. Q: Did one of them inspire you? A: I guess you can say reading her biography
motivated me. It also let me know that it can be done. You just have to stay focus and have faith that you have a product
that is worth reading.
Q: Is writing your only passion? A: Unfortunately, writing is not my passion.
But, I did put my Heart and Soul into writing it. I am still trying to find my passion, along with my niche in life.
Right now my focus would be providing a better quality of life for my family. Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? A: I see myself in 5 years
as a Ph.D. candidate, studying towards completing my Doctoral Management Degree in Organizational Leadership from the
University of Phoenix. Q: What advice would you give aspiring authors? A: The advice I will give aspiring
authors is 1.) Write about topics that you feel passionate about. That way you are putting your best effort
into your book. 2.) When things come to mind, write it
down on paper. Always remember a great story will sell itself. Keep in mind that you want be able to please everyone
with your work. But as long as you are happy with it, that’s all that matter 3.) Believe in your talents in
telling a story. Ensure that the way you tell a good story is unique. That ensures that the reader can feel as if there are
there mentally and emotionally in the story. 4.) Never give up on their Dreams. If
that’s what you want to do, do it. When it’s all said and done. You don’t want to have any regrets. I should
of, would of, stories died a long time ago. Your dreams start to come true the day you take control of your life and work
towards it. 5.) I have learned that Life stories
are the Best stories, because people can relate or can see it through the authors’ eyes through their writing. 6.) Try to Live, Learn and Cherish
the special moments we call life through your words and stories. 7.) Always keep in mind that writing
books is a business. The main objective is to make money. If that’s not your objective then writing is your hobby.
Majority of the time people don’t want to read about hobbies. Q: What would you like readers to learn from your stories? A: I would like my readers to learn from my stories
is the sincere feeling you have when you “Fall in Love”. I would also like to show people that with Faith
in God anything and everything possible. You just have to believe. Q: Are you working on another novel? A: Yes, I am working on another book titled
“MAN to man” our key to success. What is it about? It’s about a Father providing wisdom to
his Son on subjects like Life, Money and Women.
